Notre Dame Press Intern moving on to NYU Summer Publishing Institute

The University of Notre Dame Press is excited to announce that intern Jessica Crandall (ND ’19), from Chatham, New Jersey, will attend the NYU Summer publishing Institute after graduation in May. The NYU SPI is a six week intensive program, where students are immersed in the world of book and magazine/digital publishing, attending workshops, strategy sessions, and presentations by some of the leading figures in publishing. This program provides students with the opportunity to work hands-on with top industry professionals in media content.

Jessica has spent her senior year working as a marketing department intern for the Notre Dame Press, which is where she had her first introduction to the scholarly publishing field. Jessica is an English and FTT major with a minor in Business Economics, whose lifelong love of reading led her to the Notre Dame Press this fall. She has worked on a wide variety of projects related to book promotion this year—writing catalog copy and press releases, securing blurbs, organizing the annual dirty book sale, and handling sales at a Nobel prize–winning author’s book launch, among other duties—and she is very much looking forward to continuing to explore the passion that she discovered during her time working at the Notre Dame Press.
