We are pleased to announce that Eli Bortz has joined our staff as senior acquisitions editor beginning April 1, 2016. He will be acquiring primarily in the fields of political science, religion and violence, Latino and Latin American studies, international relations, Irish and Irish-American studies, and peace studies.
Eli began his publishing career at University Press of Florida where he acquired books in U.S., Caribbean, and Latin American history and social sciences. He established two new book series while at Florida, including American Reports and Florida Government and Politics. In 2008, he moved to Vanderbilt University Press where he built strong lists in Latin American studies, U.S. history and politics, anthropology, southern studies, and trade titles. He also founded three new book series: New Perspectives on Jacksonian America, The Cultural Cold War: Global Perspectives, and a collaboration with the Vanderbilt Center for Latin American Studies.
