Each year, Notre Dame Press connects the ideas of leading scholars and experts with new readers. In celebration of University Press Week, we’re pleased to share the Notre Dame Press 2020–2021 Year at a Glance, which showcases how we #KeepUP with the changing needs and expectations of scholarship and press impact.
Notre Dame Press maintained the highest levels of academic excellence, publishing 55 new books, winning 26 awards, and receiving over 300 reviews or features in major media outlets, including the Wall Street Journal, National Review, Washington Post, and U.S. Catholic.
Over the previous year, the Press had a 20% increase in unit sales. We reconnected with Notre Dame’s campus, hosting 5 publishing workshops and 29 virtual conference exhibits and supporting 18 campus partnerships. We also expanded our global reach by publishing authors from 12 different countries, translating works into 7 different languages, and connecting with 2,150 institutions via the Pandemic Relief eBook collection on JSTOR.
In addition, Notre Dame Press worked to enrich scholarly communication with an NEH CARES grant. With its support, the Press expanded channels of communication for scholars, launched a blog and video series, expanded marketing efforts, and increased our total number of eBooks by 10%.
