During National Library Week, the University of Notre Dame Press wants to elevate its valued partnership with Notre Dame’s Theodore Hesburgh Library. The Hesburgh Library has helped Notre Dame Press continue its mission to engage readers in the most pressing and intriguing questions of our time. Projects such as CurateND and the Notre Dame Press Book Festival would not be possible without the initiative and support of the Hesburgh Library. Notre Dame Press extends its gratitude and appreciation to the Hesburgh Library for all of its contributions to extending knowledge and cultivating scholarship.
Notre Dame Press has partnered with the Hesburgh Library to facilitate an online database to access, organize, and protect academic materials for students and educators engaged in research. CurateND is a research portal that allows for the management of research portfolios for students. It is maintained by the University of Notre Dame Libraries in support of our mission to disseminate information and research to scholars, educators and the public. Notre Dame Press continues to add academic scholarship to databases used by CurateND, and just recently added sixty-one new ebooks to the platform for the accessibility of Notre Dame students, faculty and staff.
In addition to sharing scholarship, the Notre Dame Press Book Festival was held in the Hesburgh Library this past November 9th and 10th. Books sales, giveaways, and book events were all held in the concourse of the library over the two days, engaging Notre Dame students, faculty and staff in the world of books, scholarship, and the exploration of new knowledge. The book festival included events on Latinx poetry, conversations regarding the career of publishing, and unique views into Notre Dame’s History through the experiences of Holy Cross Priests who have lived it. With the help of the Hesburgh Library, Notre Dame Press was able to reach an incredible amount of academic individuals to provide them with fresh insights and engaging conversations. We are thrilled to have such a wonderful partner that shares our mission of making the ideas of today’s leading experts accessible while fostering the next generation of scholars and thinkers.
