2021 was a remarkable year for the University of Notre Dame Press. Book sales increased 20% over the previous year with nearly 60,000 print books sold in the U.S. and more than 6,000 books sold internationally. E-book sales also experienced a strong uptick, including the sale of digital backlist titles, many of which were originally published decades ago in print editions.

Another indicator of healthy growth during 2021, was the media response to Notre Dame Press titles and authors. The Notre Dame Press 2021 Media Report includes almost 450 reviews, interviews, feature articles, and mentions that appeared from January to December 2021. In addition to book reviews and symposia in scholarly journals, our books received reviews in more popular outlets such as America Magazine, Commonweal, First Things, The Jerusalem Post, Los Angeles Review of Books, New York Times, Newsweek, and Politico.com, to name just a few.
At Notre Dame Press we believe in the power of research to advance knowledge and impact lives, and of our books to connect scholars, experts, students, and readers in order to encourage intellectual exploration and enrich conversations on campus, across the country, and around the world.
